I recently got my hands on some gorgeous vintage cotton and knew that it would be perfect to make a patchwork applique patch. I've always loved beetles and the stag or Staghorn Beetle is one of my favourites.
Around 6 inches square and backed with recycled denim for a dynamic, impactful addition to clothing as an applique embellishment or a sturdy patch to creatively mend a large tear in denim or similar.
Attachment & Care: Sew-on using the existing stitching as a guide (perfect for visible mending, jackets, bags, and journals). Washable. I recommend using either fusible interacting or a permanent fabric glue to attach it in the first instance and then stitching, so that everything keeps flat and in place as you sew. I have had good results with hi-tack fast tack glue applied to the back of the patch and then ironed to set it onto a tee.
Shipped flat in eco-friendly packaging with a protective card backing so it arrives safely, ready for your next creative mending or embellishment project.
