Scribology - Legacy Leather Notebooks
We're very proud to reduce the carbon footprint of our notebooks by choosing to use legacy leathers where possible. Legacy leathers are industry surplus that would otherwise be discarded. Many of our chrome tan leathers originate from the luxury bag and shoe making industries - high end, excellent quality, but the wrong shape or size for their original purpose. They range from firm to supple and come in every colour!
This collection features our widest range of colours and textures - ranging from the plainest black, executive-ready calf, to eye-catching and statement-making reds, pinks and blues. Choose from velvety caramel and toffee calf, embossed blacks and browns, or our gloriously bumpy mock ostrich leather for a feast for the fingertips as well as the eyes. There are many options here, to suit those who love a minimalist look as well as those who like accents of colour in the form of elastics and closure tags. This notebook is for someone who wants something a little out of the ordinary. When I looked at the piece of leather before making the cover I preferred the underside to the topside. It was mottled and marbled and a beautiful shade of green. So I made it inside out, and waxed it to give it a lovely, tactile finish. It will develop a patina a little more quickly, so if you’re desirous of character, this is one for you. I paired it with a rich yellow closure tag and black metal eyelets, with a silver one in the middle for a bit of extra oomph.
