Scandi Gonks Printed A5 Journal
Rainbow Makery Journals offer you a powerful - and flexible - invitation.
You can enjoy them for what they are - a professionally printed A5, 28 page hand stitched themed art journal containing 12 different vignettes on distressed/vintage paper backgrounds.
You can use them to explore your thoughts, dreams, musings or write creatively, using the images as prompts and the generous number of ‘empty’ pages to give you the space to do so.
You can use them as a scaffold for your own creativity, and fill the pages with paintings, drawings, sketches, collages, washi tape, photos, stamps… riffing off the images that are there to give you a head start and banish the fear of the blank white page and creative block.
Whatever you choose to do is the right thing for you!
Some people use them as art journals; others as journal journals; others as photo albums; others just as artworks in their own right. I’ve had the pleasure of selling these to folk face to face and so many times the buyer has actually hugged the book to them. I really love selling these books.
They are suitable for pretty much any age (image theme dependent - Gonks might be a bit far out for little ones) and it has been brought to my attention a few times recently that this type of creative aid has the potential to have real value to kids or adults in a challenging period of their life.
This is the power of connection. If the images speak to you, or something about it that you might not even currently know what it is, speaks to you, then this journal is for you. Go with it!
There’s 8 designs on offer: Cats in Clothes, Dragonfly Dream, Scandi Gonks, Fairy Toadstools, Alice’s Adventures, Luna Moth, Witchy Raven, and last but not least, the Notebook of Nonsense.
Each is professionally printed on uncoated luxury 140gsm gesso paper, with a 300gsm card cover. The ink won’t run. You can glue onto them, you can use watercolour pencils, or crayons, pens, pretty much anything you like (alcohol inks will apparently bleed through, but not obtrusively, so test first!). Each is hand stitched by either me or Ian with a pamphlet stitch using a variegated waxed thread for a handmade touch.
Books will be sent in a large letter box to keep them snugly secure on their way to you - postage is at cost.
