Ammonite: Skywater Spiral - hand-printed lino print on monoprinted background
A one-of-a-kind artwork featuring an ammonite design, hand-carved in traditional brown lino and printed in ivory black Caligo Safewash ink. For this series, each background has been created using gelliprinting - a monoprinting process that builds organic texture and subtle depth.
For Skywater Spiral, I used bright sky blue paint enriched with copper and gold, pressing botanical imprints into the surface to create fossil-like white shapes. The texture is reminiscent of rusted paintwork and embedded leaf forms - like a spiral remembered through weather and growth. This piece feels like a sky once lived in, a breath once held.
Printed on A4 heavyweight recycled cartridge paper. Individually signed and dated (KH 25). This piece is unique - no two are the same.
