Mr Donks - Jellycat Donkey

Mr Donks belongs to Georgia as part of her family of Jellycat toys. Mr Donks unfortunately had a run in with the dog, who took a liking to his ear and ripped it off along with a portion of his face and eye. Some of the ear was rescued, but when I came to reattach it I discovered that a portion of it was missing, so some reconstruction was needed.

I found some long haired plush of a similar colour to patch where the eye had been - given that donkeys often have different coloured fur on their faces I thought it in keeping to give him a intentional patch, and reinstated the missing eye. The remains of the ear were excavated out and then I was able to use the existing, intact, one to make sure the reconstruction was the same size and shape… it was definitely a bit of a 3d jigsaw!

Once finished Mr Donks looked suitably natty again, and most importantly is able to see and hear again! He’s been reunited with Georgia who was very happy to have him back in one piece again.
