Handmade catkicker toy made from hard wearing recycled upholstery leather (suede side out) diverted from landfill/incineration and soft deadstock polyester (offcuts from an older project).
We have a cat. We bought the cat a proprietary catkicker toy from a shop. She loved it... and it lasted precisely 24 hours. So we decided to make our own for her from more robust materials. She loved it just as much, and the first one we made is still going strong some 6 weeks later, despite daily abuse from some very powerful back claw bunny kicks! We've hand washed the textile section and it hasn't affected the catnip smell. Ours may be a bit pricier than the commercial or fabric offerings out there... but we guarantee that you won't have to replace it within a day or two, or even a week or two, so it's worth the investment!
This is a product that is designed to reduce waste. It uses the pieces of leather that we would normally use for our Scribology refillable travellers' notebooks, but that don't have a good enough surface. So we use them suede side out, which is great for the cats as it gives them something really firm to kick against. The fabric is leftover from other projects so counts as deadstock. It is soft and will withstand biting and drooling. The polyfill is also recycled. Inside is a generous heaping of catnip, concentrated at the textile end, to bring mucho joy to your cat.
